Dealing with People who Drain You

Challenge:
Do you have anyone in your life who constantly wants something from you - your time, attention, resources, contacts, or advice? Do you find yourself becoming irritated or angry with them and then judge yourself for having those feelings?

Remedy:
Sometimes it can be difficult to recognize people who are draining you because their emotional manipulation can be subtle and insidious. They may appear sweet and kind, woo you with flattery, or do helpful things they know you appreciate. All the while, they are taking your energy like a parasite using you as their host. Because each little contact seems innocent, you might judge yourself for having those twinges of annoyance and dismiss them completely.
